He outlined their Melbourne tower project and the importance of the Sydney project. Todd gave an insiders perspective on what makes the Casino industry work and how this contributes to lifting tourism generally. Todd’s presentation explained in detail how the ground level would work and then how each vertical strata was an important ingredient in the projects viability. Simon Swaney from Bates Smart Architects on behalf of their joint venture with Wilkinson Eyre Architects from London then explained how the design has evolved. He focussed on the ground plane and the public realm and then explained the free form organic shape of the building as it became more vertical.
