14 Star Casino and their architect FJMT present their Tower David Brenac, the General Manager Capital Projects NSW for the Star Casino outlined the company's aspirations for a new tower on their existing Pyrmont site. David also illustrated their proposed new building in Brisbane with its dramatic design features. David explained how a design competition was held to select the FJMT design and the extensive dialogue that was undertaken with the Pyrmont community. Richard Francis-Jones then explained how the design had evolved as a response to the site and its constraints. He illustrated the modelling process for the building to ensure solar access to nearby public spaces and how the functions were located in the tower. An important component was a sky lounge for the arrival of the international hotel located in the tower and how apartments were distributed in the building. Richard then illustrated how the form of the building related to the Pyrmont peninsula and its relationship to the towers in the CBD peninsular including the Crown Resort Casino building across the bay.
