Acting CEO of the Urban Taskforce, Stephen Fenn, said the latest ABS data showed an ongoing
drop off in new housing approvals in NSW that posed a significant threat to the targets of National
Housing Accord which will commence in little over a month.
Approvals need to be going up, not down. The question is – when will approvals start to turn
around?
Right now, industry cannot see a bottom to the declining approval figures. Approvals ticking up
across the State will start to inject some desperately needed confidence back into the sector.
