The quarterly building construction figures have been issued by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) for the June Quarter 2013. The Urban Taskforce takes these results and divides each states performance by the population in that state to get a per capita reading of performance. NSW is still performing at a lower level that Queensland, Western Australia and Victoria. While NSW has improved over the last 2 years the state is definitely not number one in Australia. The new planning system will be critical to ensuring that NSW productivity in building construction (including commercial, industrial, retail, residential) continues to improve.
