Proposed Changes to Canterbury Bankstown Development Control Plan 2023 | 26.05.26

Urban Taskforce Australia does not support the changes proposed to set a minimum lot size for buildings exceeding 50 metres in building height at 1,500m2 with a minimum lot width of 30 metres within the Bankstown City Centre.

Council has not provided any justification for this proposed amendment. There is no information to support the establishment of a minimum lot size of 1500m2, with a minimum lot width of 30 metres. There is no detail on why this is appropriate for buildings exceeding 50 metres in building height, To the contrary, we believe it is not.

Urban Taskforce further notes that Council was not supported when it proposed to make the very same change as a control when the NSW Government finalised the Bankstown Transport Orientated Development (TOD) precinct in November 2024.
