Urban Taskforce Australia, CEO Tom Forrest, warned that NSW’s housing shortfall will worsen unless more is done, with the latest approvals data showing the state is only approving around 70 per cent of the homes needed each month to meet its Housing Accord target.

“There is always a drop-off between approvals and building completions, particularly when interest rates go up, so more needs to be done,” he said.
