The revised design for the iconic hotel tower at the northern end of the Darling Harbour convention site will be a fitting marker for the whole precinct, says the Urban Taskforce.
“The building clearly presents itself to the waterfront and to the city with its dramatic triangular shape at the top part of the building,” says Urban Taskforce CEO, Chris Johnson. “Clearly the project is well underway with the site now cleared of the previous buildings and the approval of the hotel signifies a further step in finalising the design and moving to construction.”
“The hotel and the convention, entertainment and exhibition facilities will help position Sydney on the Asia Pacific circuit for major events. Our competition now is not other Australian cities but our neighbouring cities of Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai.”
