Urban Taskforce CEO, Tom Forrest, today said the Victorian Government’s Housing Statement is a solid plan that demonstrates how Victoria will deliver the 300,000 new dwellings required to meet their National Housing Accord targets.
Under the National Accord, Victoria will need to deliver around 300,000 of the 1.2 million new homes promised nationally. The plan contains bold planning reform with some political risk – but the Plan recognises that a housing supply crisis demands leadership.
In fact, Victoria’s ambition extends to delivering 800,000 new homes in the 10 years to 2034.
