Urban Taskforce CEO, Tom Forrest, welcomed the optimistic tone of the budget, the forecast return to surplus in 2024/25, and the focus on savings and improved efficiency, but said the budget results are predicated on a buoyant property sector and strong housing supply.
All eyes will now be on Planning Minister Scully and the long-anticipated suite of planning reforms. Without these, the budget result will be at risk.
