Urban Taskforce Australia CEO, Tom Forrest, today welcomed the Minns Government’s “clarification” of the HDA Review, which now emphasises its support for feasibility in the deliberations of the Housing Delivery Authority (HDA).
Feasibility is the biggest concern of the development sector, making the difference between projects going ahead or not. So, the Government’s commitment to amend the HDA’s assessment criteria to make feasibility a key factor in considerations (a key point that was entirely missing from the DPHIs review of the HDA) is an important development.
Planning Minister Paul Scully’s announcement today will help to address some of the concerns that industry had about the criteria changes announced earlier last month.
