Urban Taskforce Australia welcomes the changes, particularly Council’s proposal to allow residential flat buildings to be developed in R3 Medium Density Residential zones.
New South Wales is currently facing a housing supply crisis and will need to increase residential development density across Greater Sydney if it is to meet its targets under the National Housing Accord.
Including residential flat buildings in the R3 zone – thereby removing the previous requirement for it to be limited only to shop-top housing – will increase flexibility and enable the delivery of more housing in the Campbelltown LGA.
Changes such as this will help to address accommodation
