In brief

01 September 2010

Yet another SEPP is coming. A discussion paper for a World Heritage SEPP is on exhibition. The NSW Government is proposing a state environmental planning policy (SEPP) that will recognise these sites and their world heritage significance in the planning system.

The proposed SEPP will require the world heritage values be considered when preparing an environmental planning instrument, determining a development application or carrying out an activity that may affect the world heritage values of the sites. Among other locations, this SEPP relates to a signficiant area of Sydney Harbour in the vicinity of the Opera House. Submissions on the discussion paper will be received by the DoP until 13 September 2010. More information can be accessed from here.

The NSW Government has commenced a publicity campaign, including television advertisements, to tell the wider community about the home builders’ bonus (the stamp duty concessions). Details of the campaign are here.
