This month’s ABS approvals data showed that over the 12 months to July 2025, NSW approved 50,2000 new homes – well short of the National Housing Accord completion targets of 77,000 each year.

Urban Taskforce Acting CEO Stephen Fenn said, “The other concerning problem was a flatlining of standalone houses – stuck in a rut and needing the support of the NSW and Federal Government in terms of housing enabling infrastructure”.
