CEO of Urban Taskforce Australia, Tom Forrest, today welcomed the announcement that the NSW Government will not adopt the latest version of the National Construction Code (NCC 2025) until 1 May, 2027.
Building Minister Anoulack Chanthivong’s decision will give the construction sector time to consider and adjust to the proposed changes.
More than that, it gives the NSW Government more time to decide upon possible variations being discussed with industry to ensure that the Code meets industry’s and the community’s needs, and to minimise unnecessary cost imposts, compliance risk and disruption to housing supply.
