Acting CEO of Urban Taskforce, Stephen Fenn, today said that there were 86,700 reasons in support of the ongoing effort of the State Government in addressing the housing supply crisis through the Housing Delivery Authority’s State Significant Development pathway.

Since the program was announced late last year, the Minister for Planning has declared 240 projects, representing some 86,700 potential homes, as State Significant.

This week a further 26 projects, representing potentially 7,700 new homes, were declared State Significant.

The first 7 months of the program has proven successful in going to the market to gauge housing projects that were ready to go. Urban Taskforce had called for this type of program and it is pleasing to see that it is delivering. The HDA has become the gold standard in terms of meeting the housing supply crisis.
