3 THE CREATING COMMUNITIES CONFERENCE WITH ITS MANY EXCITING MIXED USE PROJECTS WAS A POSITIVE CONTRIBUTION TO DEBATE ABOUT SYDNEY’S GROWTH The 300 people who attended the Creating Communities Conference were very upbeat about the quality of the projects presented. With the current pre-election negative environment about new development the audience found the many successful projects presented demonstrated that the development industry had a positive contribution to make to the successful growth of cities. Most of the key developers and many architects and planners at the conference expressed very positive reactions to the conference theme in their feedback. The Urban Taskforce thanked the key sponsors during the conference particularly URBIS as the major sponsor and PAYCE, Lendlease, Stockland, Frasers and TOGA for their support.
