12 IVANHOE, SYDNEY Sacha Kovic and Scott Clohessy Development Managers for Frasers Property outlined the plans behind the Ivanhoe urban renewal project which is a joint venture partnership between Frasers Property, The NSW Government’s Land and Housing Corporation and Mission Australia. The project is on a 8.2 hectare site that is currently social housing and the governments approach has been to have the private sector build the same number of social housing units in a development with new market housing, affordable housing, retail centres, community facilities and a school. Overall the project will have 950 social homes, 128 affordable homes and around 2,000 market homes designed so there is a good mixture across the site. A high rise school has been designed as part of the project and there are significant parklands and urban spaces on the site. Public transport in the form of a metro rail station is nearby.
