Urban Taskforce Executive Committee

The Urban Taskforce Executive Committee is elected by the members and oversees corporate policy, governance and financial management of the Urban Taskforce Australia. It includes some of Australia’s leading property developers.

The Executive Committee members are:

David Ghannoum
(Chair) – Regional Managing Director, Multiplex

David was appointed Chair of the Executive Board of the Urban Taskforce Ltd in October 2023.

He is an Adjunct Professor (Industry) at UTS and is currently Multiplex’s Regional Managing Director for NSW and ACT.

Multiplex is one of Australia’s largest construction contractors with over 60 years of experience across all the property sectors including residential, commercial, retail, and social infrastructure. 

David joined Multiplex in 1989 and has overseen the delivery of more than 60 major public and private-sector construction projects across NSW, ACT and Queensland.

Richard Scheinberg AM
(Deputy Chair) Director, McDonald Industries

Richard Scheinberg AM  is managing director of his family group of companies. He is involved in private equity  in the real estate industry in development and investment syndicates. Those investments concentrate on residential development and investment, land subdivision, shopping centre investments  and various industrial and commercial investments including NDIS, child care and self-storage. He has sat on many charitable boards and been awarded an AM for his philanthropic activities. He is a licensed real estate agent and has now retired as a real estate valuer.

David Tanevski 
(Founding Director and Hon.  Secretary / Treasurer) – Managing Director, KWC Capital Partners

David Tanevski is the Founding Director of Urban Taskforce Australia Ltd since its formation in 1999. He is the Managing Director of KWC Capital Partners a private equity and advisory firm specialising in real estate development and investment solutions, equity and debt capital raising, funds management, financial structuring, acquisition and disposal, due diligence, development planning, and strategic advice. David has sat on numerous public, private and charitable boards for over 30 years and was appointed in 2021 as a member of the NSW Ministerial Advisory Panel to advise on a new Decennial Liability Insurance policy for apartment owners, developers, and builders. He is a Member of the Actuaries Institute Australia.

Christina Renner
Legal Counsel, Winten Property Group

Christina is an accredited specialist in planning law who has spent the last 2 decades working almost exclusively for developers.  Much of that time was spent as a partner at a large law firm, with many Urban Taskforce members among her clientele, focussing on long term major developments and rezonings.  She currently works in house with the Winten Property Group, and is recognised by Doyle’s Guide as one of the Australia’s leading in-house planning lawyers. 

Samantha Czyz
National Planning Manager, Stockland

Samantha Czyz is the Manager, National Planning at Stockland Corporation, responsible for overseeing the company’s national planning initiatives and strategies. Samantha holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Macquarie University, which provides Stockland with a strong foundation in the field of planning and urban development.

John Carfi
Chief Executive Officer, Ingenia Communities

John joined Ingenia Communities as Chief Executive Officer in April 2024 and was appointed to the Board in August 2024. John has more than 35 years of large company leadership experience and extensive real estate expertise, with a strong emphasis on the development sector.

He developed his career in two of Australia’s leading public property companies, Lendlease Group and Mirvac, culminating in him being appointed CEO of Residential Development at Mirvac. More recently John was the CEO of Emaar Properties (USD $37B Dubai based real estate company) and CEO of Aqualand Australia. John has significant experience in developing and operating property businesses in both global and local contexts and a demonstrated ability to set and deliver on strategy.

John is currently a Non-Executive Director of City West Housing Pty Ltd, a not-for-profit Community Housing Provider. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Building.

(Deputy Chair) – Managing Director, Rebel Property Group

Kevin Nassif
Chief Operating Officer & Director, Holdmark Property Group

Kevin Nassif is the Chief Operating Officer at Holdmark Property Group, a multi-disciplinary family Property Development, Investment and Construction Group. Kevin is a solicitor with extensive experience in complex commercial, property development, planning, and construction matters. In additional to his professional responsibilities, Kevin is also a board member of the John Paul Foundation and actively supports various charities and organisations.

David Gallant
CEO & Managing Director, Walker Corporation

David Gallant is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Walker Corporation. Walker Corporation, one of Australia’s largest privately-owned development firms undertakes large scale precinct developments throughout NSW, Qld, SA and Vic with a strong commitment to placemaking and innovation through long-term partnerships and community creation.

Having worked closely with the late Walker Corporation Founder Lang Walker AO for the last 30 years, David has been instrumental in delivering some of Walker Corporation’s most significant urban transformation projects along with managing the Group’s extensive property portfolio and the development business in Malaysia and North America.

With extensive experience across development and project delivery, David’s expertise strikes a critical balance between vision, execution and collaboration with our partners and stakeholders, to enable Walker to continue raising the benchmark in its commercial precincts and residential communities.

Albert Chan
General Manager, Meriton Group

Albert Chan is the General Manager of Meriton Group, Australia’s largest and most successful residential developer. With over 20 years of experience in the property development and hospitality industries, Albert has excelled in numerous senior roles within Meriton, showcasing his operational expertise and strategic acumen. At Meriton, he has risen through the ranks, serving in key positions that encompassed operations, investments, site acquisitions, and new business. As General Manager, Albert oversees the overall day to day management, strategic planning, and operational leadership of the group.
