The Urban Taskforce has today launched its annual search for the Property Person of the Year.
Testing times demand the very best in business leadership, Mr Gadiel said.
Anyone who is still able to forge ahead in the current market conditions is clearly exceptional.
This years Property Person of the Year will be an individual who has responded well to the tough business environment created by the global financial crisis.
The Property Person of the Year Award, now in its 7th year, will be presented to an Australian property sector leader at a charity dinner.
The previous award recipients have been impressive community leaders who played a major part in building Australia, Mr Gadiel said.
Any individual or company can make a nomination. Past winners include:
- Mr Harry Triguboff AO, Chairman and Managing Director of Meriton Apartments;
- Mr Lang Walker, Chairman of Walker Corporation;
- Mr Liam Forde, Chief Executive of Baulderstone Hornibrook;
- Mr Bill Moss AM, Group Head and Chief Executive Officer of the Banking and Property Group, Macquarie Bank;
- Mr Greg Goodman, Group Chief Executive Officer of Goodman International Limited; and
- Mr Wal King AO, Chief Executive, Leighton Holdings.
Recipients of the Property Person of the Year Award have helped shape Australia with billions of dollars of development, Mr Gadiel said.
Their work has helped strengthen our economy. Theyre also individuals whove contributed to the community in other ways, particularly through charitable causes.
Nominations should be made by Thursday 16 April 2009. A nomination form is available here.
