The $110 million development set to replace north-west Sydney’s ‘old heart’

A lobby group for developers is fighting to stop a $110 million construction project in Sydney’s north-west, known as The New Heart of Ryde, in order to protect the suburb’s ageing 1960s Civic Centre from demolition.

But the mayor has hit back at the group, suggesting the developers are only upset because the council rejected an application to build apartments on the site.
