Developer lobby group Urban Taskforce also agrees. Its chief executive Tom Forrest, a former Labor staffer, said the city’s most affluent postcodes were “ripe” for increased density.
“At the most basic level, the increases in prices in the east, north shore and 25 kilometres from the CBD has been greater than the average,” he said. “That means there’s demand and if there is demand and the prices are still going up then it means supply is not meeting it.”
