Property Person of the Year

The recipient of the 2012 Property Person of the Year award is Mr Ross McDiven, Chairman of the the Brookfield Multiplex Group.

 

The award will be presented at a charity fundraising luncheon on Wednesday 5 December 2012.

 

The Property Person of the Year Award annually recognises an impressive community leader who has played a key role in helping build Australia.

The receipient of the 2012 Award is Mr Ross McDiven, Chairman of the Brookield Multiplex Group.

Ross is a company person through and through having started his career as a cadet with Multiplex in 1969 and then working his way up to becoming Chairman over a 43 year career.

 Rosss dedication to the one construction company over 43 years is remarkable, Over these years, he steered the organisation into becoming a public company in 2003 and then negotiated the new relationship with the global property giant Brookfield in 2007.

Under Rosss leadership Brookfield Multiplex has made its mark on Australian cities through the construction of 743 high rise towers and major projects to the value of AUD$52 billion.

In NSW Ross drove Multiplexs first Sydney CBD project, the 5 star Hotel Intercontinental and since then has led the teams that have been responsible for developing over 200 projects in NSW alone including Stadium Australia, Chifley Tower, King Street Wharf, Campbelltown Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney Central Plaza, Parramatta Justice Precinct and the NSW Police Headquarters at Parramatta.

Ross has seen Multiplex grow from its Western Australian base to being an international construction entity now operating in all Australian states, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and most recently in Canada and India.

In 2003 Ross was appointed Deputy Managing Director of Multiplex Limited when it listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and subsequently became CEO of Brookfield Multiplex after Brookfield acquired the Multiplex Group in 2007.
