Nimbys won’t be allowed to stop housing push – AFR, 9 September 2022

A property developers’ lobby group, Urban Taskforce Australia, said the “glossy cliché” plan was a “marketing pitch for an ivory tower utopian vision” of Sydney. “They don’t even acknowledge that there’s a housing supply crisis,” said chief executive Tom Forrest. “It’s like they’re dealing in a parallel universe. Mr Forrest said the commission’s plan for a minimum of 25 per cent of new housing to be apartments or townhouses near train stations was too low and would reduce pressure on councils.
