Speaking on 2SM, Tom Forrest, CEO of Urban Taskforce Australia, said the National Housing Accord data showed Australia was falling short of its housing delivery target.
“The states have all made a big effort to improve the planning systems and to expand the number of approvals for new dwellings going forward. What we’re really missing is the Commonwealth coming in and supporting the states with additional funding to support that housing supply. That means funding for things like infrastructure, water infrastructure, roads, public transport.”
