CEO of Urban Taskforce Australia, Tom Forrest, today lauded the skills and talent of the architects, engineers and builders responsible for the construction of the new Sydney Fishmarkets at Blackwattle Bay, at its official opening this morning.
Multiplex deserve special mention as the head contractor for the delivery of the extremely complex new facility, co-ordinating and delivering every aspect of this magnificent new site.
Working with world class architects, 3XN, BVN and Aspect Studios, the Multiplex team pushed through the well-publicised disputes between the fishmarket vendors and the government, to work constructively with Infrastructure NSW, and deliver an iconic new venue for Sydney.
Well serviced by public transport and under ground car parking, the new fishmarket will host all the market vendors we all know but will be joined by a who’s who of restaurants and catering. But the highlight of the new markets is its magnificent new roof.
