CEO of Urban Taskforce, Tom Forrest today welcomed the commitment by Mark Speakman, leader of the NSW Opposition, to unlock up to 15,000 well located new homes in the suburbs of Erskineville, Macdonaldtown, Newtown and St Peters.
Despite their proximity to heavy rail, these areas have been overlooked for their housing potential.
Urban Taskforce supports the Opposition’s commitment to undertake a masterplanning exercise focused on approximately 100 hectares of prime inner-city land – within an 800 metre radius from Erskineville station, and a 400 metre radius of Macdonaldtown, Newtown and St Peters rail station.
