Urban Taskforce CEO, Tom Forrest today welcomed the decision by the NSW Minister for Water, Rose Jackson MLC, to cap stormwater charges for Western Sydney’s Mamre Road precinct, near Western Sydney airport, at $800,000 per hectare.
This represents a significant reduction from Sydney Water’s proposed charges of $1.35 million per hectare and will be a major fillip for the development of new employment land in western Sydney.
The decision is a win for new manufacturing, warehousing and logistic jobs in Western Sydney.
This equates to a reduction in water infrastructure changes on zoned industrial land in the Mamre Road industrial precinct from $135 per square metre to $80 per square metre.
