Since around 2003, NSW has been dropping behind other states in terms of the value of building work constructed. This is shown clearly on the Australian Bureau of Statistics(ABS) graphs that chart the quarterly construction value achieved in each state for housing and non-housing construction (this does not include infrastructure expenditure like roads) adjusted to a per capita measure based on the current population of each state.
