The NSW Government has announced the planning approval for the construction of the Capital Solar Farm, near Bungendore. More information is here.

The NSW Government has approved a new local environmental plan (LEP) in relation to the Gladesville town centre and Victoria Road Corridor. The government says the new plan supports 1,050 new jobs and 800 additional homes. Land use zones that will apply include low and high density residential zones, mixed uses and enterprise corridor zones. The government’s media release is here. The new LEP is here.

An eight hectare site at Lake Munmorah on the Central Coast has been rezoned to allow a new 10,000 square metre shopping centre, that includes a Woolworths supermarket, specialty shops medical centre, petrol station and car parking. The NSW Government media release is here.

Newcastle lord mayor John Tate said the Urban Renewal State Environmental Planning Policy will be used to allow residential development and will be encouraged at street level throughout the Newcastle central business district. A report of his comments is here.

The NSW Government has approved a comprehensive new LEP for Tamworth that rezones land for up to 1,000 new homes and sets aside 120 hectares of employment land for business park development. The government’s media release is here. The new LEP is here.

The NSW Government has approved Delfin Lend Lease’s concept plan for Calderwood, located in the Illawarra, which includes 4,800 new homes and 50 hectares of employment land. The site is approximately 700 hectares and has also been listed as a State significant site. The project application for the first stage, which includes 320 residential lots and 10 mixed use lots, is still being assessed by the Department of Planning. The Government media release is here.  However, local media reports strong objection to the concept approval. Apparently, Wollongong, Shellharbour and Kiama councils raised concerns with the proposal and Shellharbour Council is now considering what action it can take. The local news story is here.

The NSW Government has given concept plan approval for an office development on the Pacific Highway at North Sydney. The development will be able to accommodate around 2,500 jobs. The concept approval allows for a 31-storey building at 177-199 Pacific Highway with a maximum floor area of 44,770 square metres; a four level basement with 112 car spaces; and a publicly-accessible plaza of approximately 1,325 square metres. The NSW Government has approved the rezoning of the second stage of Seabreeze Estate, west of Pottsville. The decision relates to 24 hectares of North Coast residential land, capable of supporting around 130 new homes. More detail is here.
