The NSW Government is winding up the Burwood town centre planning panel, giving back planning powers to the council. Burwood Council can now prepare any new amending local environmental plans (LEP) for the town centre. A media release is available from here.  The official order giving effect to this announcement is on PDF page 7 of 348 here.

A warehouse and distribution facility at Eastern Creek has been approved by the NSW Government that will see Australand Holdings construct a 49,850 square metre warehouse with 1,700 square metres of office space; storage area for large containers; and parking for 330 cars. Australand is to provide approximately $1.9 million towards the surrounding regional road network and will also build internal roads servicing the development. More information can be accessed from here.

The NSW Government has approved the first stage of a Penrith local environmental plan. This stage of the LEP addresses planning controls for the St Marys town centre and updates existing plans that covered the non-urban areas of the local government area. Council is working on stage two of the LEP that will consider the existing and future residential areas of the Penrith Local Government Area. A media release is available here and the new LEP is available here.

Queanbeyan City Council will publicly exhibit plans to rezone land at South Tralee for residential development. The proposed South Tralee land release has the capacity to deliver up to 2,500 housing lots. This draft LEP is being exhibited for a second time due to a court decision earlier in the year that invalidated the previous exhibition process on technical legal grounds. A media release is available from here.
