Urban Taskforce Australia boss Tom Forrest said the Greater Cities Commission (formerly the Greater Sydney Commission) was responsible for the “retain and manage industrial lands” policy that governs such land in Sydney, as it is written into the Regional Plan for Greater Sydney.
“While there was a review into this policy published earlier this year, with an independent cost benefit analysis undertake by Deloitte recommending change to a more flexible approach, the GCC under retiring Minister for Cities Rob Stokes decided to leave the current policy in place,” he said.
