Strong demand for flights from Western Sydney International Airport shows its potential, but also highlights missing infrastructure in the surrounding precinct.
Urban Taskforce CEO, Tom Forrest, says the airport is ready, but key supporting roads and water infrastructure are delayed by red tape and business case development.
“The federal election campaign saw promises to fund and deliver a much-needed upgrade to Fifteenth Ave, connecting Liverpool to the new airport. To date, nothing … We had promises to upgrade Badgerys Creek Rd south of the airport, but none of the promised funds have yet been seen.”
