In NSW residential, commercial and retail development projects that exceed $100 million are subject to approval under Part 3A of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act.
However, it seems that the Department of Planning is concerned with the quality of the material submitted to have such projects declared as “major development” by the Minister for Planning. They have prepared a draft guideline outlining the level of detail required to support applications for these projects. We have been invited by the Department of Planning to review their draft Interim Guideline for Part 3A Residential, Commercial and Retail Projects.
The correspondence from the Department of Planning and draft Guideline can be accessed from here.
Our comments are due by 1 October 2010 and we are keen to receive member feedback. Interested members may also choose to provide feedback directly to the Department of Planning.
