I write in response to the draft resilience strategy for Strathfield Municipal Council.
Urban Taskforce Australia welcomes the intent of the strategy to protect Strathfield residents and to plan for future stresses such as climate change.
The paper rightly recognises housing affordability as a key community concern, emphasising that housing affordability challenges were an ongoing stressor.
Yet, the facilitation and delivery of new housing did not get included as one of the Strategic Directions for the Council.
