I write in response to the proposed planning control changes to extend all-electric building controls outside of the Parramatta City Centre.
Urban Taskforce is concerned that the move towards all-electric buildings is happening ad-hoc between different Council areas, is too fast and going too far.
We believe that any move to ban gas power in buildings must be based on a state-wide policy, not implemented on an ad hoc, council-by-council basis.
Urban Taskforce Australia believes that Parramatta Council should choose Option 1 and not introduce restrictions on gas equipment in new developments outside of the CBD.
