Developer lobby calls for billions in federal funds to boost housing supply

The article comments on the shortfall of the Federal Government to follow through with clear action and legislation that will enable the targets set by the National Housing Accord to be achieved.
“The government signed a national housing accord for 1.2 million homes. Setting a target does not solve the problem, there’s still the hard work of ensuring the reforms are made to drive the change,” Tom Forrest, Urban Taskforce CEO.
The Urban Taskforce 2025-26 federal pre-budget submission calls for a $5 billion investment over five years in a third round of funding to support infrastructure development, increase housing supply and stabilise costs.
