11 Koichi Takada has brought a Japanese sensibility to Australian architecture. His work is innovative and refined. Koichi melds the traditions of his homeland with today’s stunning flowing forms – an approach he developed in New York, London and Tokyo. Koichi established his own practice, Koichi Takada Architects, in Sydney in 2008. The practice has been growing with competition-winning architectural projects and an equal focus on the design and construction phases, with landmark buildings and interiors in Australia and overseas. Our projects have won multiple awards and have been extensively featured in Australian and international design publications such as Indesign, Monocle, Habitus, Inside and AR. MHN Design Union is a cross- disciplinary practice focused on design excellence, working with our Interior and Project Management studios, we undertake projects ranging from bespoke houses, small / medium size apartment buildings, and large scale urban renewal developments. MHNDU have been recognized in Australia and globally, including AIA (Australian Institute of Architects NSW) finalists twice, WAF (World Architecture Festival) finalists three times, and Waverley Award winners three times. In 2012, MHNDU received the Urban Taskforce Award for Excellence in Residential Apartment Development. MHNDU has recently won 2 design excellence competitions within the City of Sydney.
