b'JEHEON SON OUTLINES THE SUCCESS OF THE OVER STATION DEVELOPMENT AT NORTH SYDNEYJeheon Son is the Head of Integrated Transport Development at Lendlease and he outlined the partnership between Lendlease and Sydney Metro in the delivery of an Over Station Development at Victoria Cross, North Sydney. This is a new station on the Sydney Metro network which will allow North Sydney to be connected to Barangaroo via a 3 minute journey and to Martin Place via a 5 minute journey on a system capable of running metro trains every 2 minutes. This connectivity will transform North Sydney into a legitimate extension of the Sydney CBD. Jeheon outlined the integration of the underground station design with the Over Station Development and the importance of place making as the third dimension of the integrated approach. A new premium commercial office tower will be built over the station site as well as activated fine grain retail and the creation of substantive public domain works. Significant thinking has gone into the placemaking strategy for Victoria Cross and the opportunity to create a new civic heart for North Sydney. Jeheon also presented other major urbanisation projects Lendlease is delivering globally and how significant public transport investment has facilitated the creation of both social and economic value.14'
