A new local environmental plan has been approved for Balranald Shire. A media release is here and the plan is available here.

A $141 million residential, commercial and retail development with capacity for more than 1,600 new homes at Bilambil Heights has been given concept plan approval. A media release is here.

Canada Bay Council has placed a suite of draft planning controls on exhibition in relation to the Rhodes Peninsula. Documents will be on exhibition until 3 August. More information can be obtained from here.

Sydney City Council has a draft amendment to the South Sydney development control plan on exhibition. The proposed changes to floor space ratio are worth noting. It is suggested that floor space ratio (FSR) can be distributed “equitably” across the precinct, with all landowners achieving a maximum FSR of 2:1. The DCP amendment therefore proposes to reduce the maximum potentially achievable FSR from 2.5:1 to 2:1. The Draft Amendment is on exhibition until 28 July 2010.
